In the Spring of 2008, HSA began Soccer4All, a program for children aged 4-19 with physical and/or mental disabilities. The program is geared toward player development rather than competition. Soccer4All is open to any child with a developmental delay or disability including but not limited to: A.D.D., Autism, Hearing Impaired, Sight Impaired, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cystic Fibrosis, Down’s Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Seizure Disorder and Spinal Bifida. Players do not need to be Hudson residents.

There are two Soccer4All sessions each year. The spring session runs from early May through mid June. The fall session runs early September through October. Games are played Saturday mornings or afternoons at Barlow Farm Park in Hudson.

The Soccer4All program has three primary goals: 1) Get active; 2) Make friends; and 3) Have fun! It also gives parents an opportunity to enjoy watching their children as well as develop friendships themselves.

Players are grouped according to ability and to a lesser extent, their age. There is a coach for each group. The size of the group depends on the number of children that sign up for each session.

Soccer4All utilizes many young volunteers called soccer buddies. Buddies are fifth grade and above students who assist the Soccer4All players and coaches. In many cases, players are paired up one-on-one with a buddy to offer individualized direction and support.
